minuscule: ) is a letter of the
Latin alphabet, formed from
B with the addition of a
hook. It is used in the
International Phonetic Alphabet and in some
African languages, such as
Fula and
Hausa, to represent a
voiced bilabial implosive. It was also formerly used in
Xhosa and
Zulu.
In
Unicode, the upper case is in the Latin Extended B range (U+0181), and the lower case is in the IPA range (U+0253).
Its uppercase form can appear as a capital B with a hook to the left, or it can look similar to the
Cyrillic letter
be (Б).
