Cruising Western Samoa Upolu
Cruising the island of Samoa with my cousins. Sosefina by FIJI
Mauga o Upolu
The entire video footage was taken in Tutuila American Samoa, Dec., 2006. Apollo 11, was the first true Amerian Samoan musical group that became famous in the 1960s and the 1970s. Led by Faanu Tuanaitau of Pavaiai in Tutuila American Samoa. This CD was recorded at the renown Taupou Recording Studio in Hawaii, USA. For the Samoan music historians, Apollo XI maybe the most influential musical group ever came out of American Samoa. This is their first official CD recording. Faanu wrote some of his best lyrics while he was incarcerated at Tafuna Correction Facility, and his flamboyant style and colorful personality added mustique to his group. Faanu Tuanaitau invented his own style of slack key (similar to ki kufa) which made Apollo XI sound unique. Some of his biggest hits were "Tauivi" and "Sau O Le Vaveao" and now considered as classics. During the recording of this CD, he revealed to Taupou Recording Studio some of the historical events that inspired some of his music. Faanu Tuanaitau now resides in Sacramento, California USA.

Ocean Spirit Cruises will take you to explore two of the most breathtaking destinations on the Great Barrier Reef ... the rush of a life time. Upolu Reef is just magical with Moray Eels to check out, Giant Clams, Turtles and if your really lucky perhaps a reef shark. Upolu Reef has it all!
