6.5 X 47 LAPUA
'6.5 x 47 Lapua' (or 6.5 x 47) is a rifle cartridge that was developed specifically for long-range benchrest shooting by ammunition maker Nammo Lapua and rifle manufacturer Swiss Grünig & Elmiger AG in 2005[1].

Features
The cartridge has many special features including: [2]:
★ The cartridge chamber dimensions are optimized for target bullets.
★ High pressure level (4350 bar / 63090 psi) and optimized powder capacity enables high velocity and flat trajectory.
★ Reduced barrel wear compared to 6 mm BR Norma.
★ The 6.5x47 Lapua has a base diameter and overall length similar to the .308 Winchester, allowing it to accept the same bolt heads and fit into similar actions and magazines.
Performance
The 6.5x47 is essentially a European-made equivalent of David Tubb's 6.5 XC.

★ 7.97 g (123 gr) Full Metal Jacket (FMJ): 2,887 ft/s (880 m/s)
