9TH (HIGHLAND) INFANTRY DIVISION

The '9th (Highland) Infantry Division' was a second line Territorial Army formation at the beginning of the Second World War. After the surrender of the 51st Highland Division in 1940, the 9th Division, a replica of the 51st Division, was redesignated as the 51st Highland Division. It carried on the great fighting history of Highland military units.
