AA REGION III

'Region III' is one of the four AA regions in the Virginia High School League. It is made up of four districts: the AA Blue Ridge District, the AA Massanutten District, the AA Seminole District, and the AA Southern Valley District. Currently, the region consists largely of schools around the Shenandoah Valley, Roanoke, Virginia and Lynchburg, Virginia.
In 2007, the River Ridge District was placed into Region IV, which is the smallest region because many of its member schools in Southwest Virginia have lost enrollment and dropped into Group A. In exchange, the former AA Valley District broke up into two districts and was moved to Region III from Region II.
