'"Achy Breaky Heart"' is a hit country music song from 1992 by Billy Ray Cyrus, first available on his CD ''Some Gave All''. As Cyrus' debut single and signature song, it made him famous.

The song came about when a friend of Billy Ray Cyrus split up with his wife. Cyrus went to see him to make sure he was okay. When Cyrus asked his friend how he was feeling his friend said: "My heart's all achy, breaky". The music video for the song was filmed during a concert at the Paramount Arts Center in Ashland, Kentucky.
The song renewed a popular interest in line dancing and mullet hairstyles in the United States and Canada.

★ Cyrus has often poked fun at the song. In the pilot for the show ''Doc'', Dr. Clint Cassidy (Cyrus' character) said he hated the song, which was playing in the background.

★ In addition, the song has been referenced numerous times in ''Hannah Montana'', a show he co-stars in with his daughter, Miley. In the episode ''It's a Mannequin's World'' it showed him trying to do the limbo only for him to pull a back muscle and exclaim, "My achy breaky back!" In another episode, Robby Stewart (Billy Ray's character) trying to catch a mouse loose in the house, before he discovers the mouse can play the piano and asks it if it knows "Achy Breaky Heart", which the mouse then stops playing. Also, one episode is titled "Achy Jakey Heart", a reference to the song

★ "Weird Al" Yankovic has written a parody called "Achy Breaky Song". The lyrics describe the annoyingness of ''Achy Breaky Heart'', where he states he would rather be tied to a chair and kicked down a set of stairs than listen to Achy Breaky Heart. It appears on his album ''Alapalooza''.

★ Popular performer, the Big Rizz, is renowned for playing this song frequently in Australia.

★ In ''The Simpsons'' episode, "Homer's Barbershop Quartet", a flashback episode, Homer sets up the story by explaining, "Rock music had become stagnant. 'Achy Breaky Heart' was only seven years away and there needed to be something to fill the void."

★ The song was also used in the ''South Park'' episode "You Got F'd in the A"

★ In ''The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy'' episode, "Nobody Loves Grim," after Grim loses his body he hears a slow country song in a nearby saloon and mentions that about his "Achy Breaky Heart."

★ A group called Run C&W recorded a parody titled "Itchy Twitchy Spot" ("Don't touch that spot/That itchy twitchy spot/That spot that's swellin' up and turnin' red...").
