'Ada Maris' is a Mexican-American actress. She was born 'Ada Marentes' and has been married to actor Tony Plana since 1988. They have two children.
Maris made a big splash on an episode of ''The Cosby Show'' playing the girlfriend of a community-center director played by Tony Orlando. This was supposed to be a pilot for a series centered on Maris and Orlando, but it was never picked up by the network. She then went on to play Nurse Gina Cuevas on ''Nurses'' for its entire three-season run in the early 1990s.
Most recently Maris became known for playing Captain Erika Hernandez on ''. Her husband, Tony Plana, had appeared in the earlier Star Trek spin-off, ''. She also played Sonia Garcia in the television comedy ''The Brothers Garcia'' for the full run of the series.
