ADAM SCHLESINGER


'Adam Schlesinger' is an American songwriter, composer, and record producer. He is the bassist for the bands Fountains of Wayne and Ivy. He is an owner of Scratchie Records and Stratosphere Sound, a recording studio in New York City.
Schlesinger was nominated for an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award for writing the title track of the Tom Hanks-directed film ''That Thing You Do!'' as well as two other songs for the film. Fountains of Wayne was nominated for two Grammy Awards in 2003 for their album ''Welcome Interstate Managers'', which included the hit single "Stacy's Mom".
Schlesinger composed and produced several original songs for the 2007 film ''Music and Lyrics'', starring Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore. His music has also been featured in films such as ''Shallow Hal'' (which he scored with Ivy); ''Robots''; ''There's Something About Mary''; ''Me, Myself and Irene''; ''Josie and the Pussycats''; ''Scary Movie''; ''Art School Confidential''; ''Insomnia''; ''Fever Pitch''; ''The Manchurian Candidate''; ''Last Holiday''; ''Because of Winn-Dixie''; ''Orange County''; ''Two Weeks Notice''; and others, as well as numerous television shows. He has also written songs for and with other artists, including the hit "Just The Girl" for The Click Five, and Bowling For Soup's hit "High School Never Ends", co-written with Jaret Riddick.
