'"Afterimage"' is a seventh season episode of '' first broadcast on October 14, 1998. The episode has an average rating of 3.8/5 on the official Star Trek website (as of August 13th, 2007).[1]
In addition to coping with the memories of her "past lives," Ezri Dax must deal with the range of reactions her presence generates on Deep Space Nine. Worf has the worst reaction, even threatening fellow friends and officers. Garak, who is also not taking Ezri well, suffers problems from his own when acute claustraphobia, worse then ever, strikes him down.
At the end of the episode, Ezri becomes DS9's official counseler and receives a promotion.
