ALBERT V. BRYAN JR.

'Albert V. Bryan Jr.' (born 1926 in Alexandria, Virginia) is a former judge on the United States District Court who served in the Eastern District of Virginia from 1971 to 1991.
Bryan served in the United States Marine Corps reserve from 1944 to 1946. He earned his law degree from the University of Virginia Law School, then entered private practice where he remained until 1962, when he became a judge on the 16th Judicial Circuit of Virginia.
Bryan was nominated by President Richard Nixon on July 19 1971, to a new seat created by 84 Stat. 294, and was confirmed by the Senate on July 29 1971. He served as chief judge from 1985 until December 1 1991 when he became a senior judge.
