ALDO TESSIO

'Aldo Tessio' was an Argentine politician belonging to the Radical Civic Union. He was the governor of the province of Santa Fe from 12 October 1963 to 28 June 1966. His term was prematurely ended by the coup d'état that ousted president Arturo Frondizi and brought to power the military dictatorship led by Juan Carlos Onganía.

Tessio was the last Radical Party governor of Santa Fe to date. The Justicialist Party governor Jorge Obeid spoke of him as "an illustrious character of Argentine democracy", noting his commitment to human rights. During his term (lasting 32 months) Tessio sought to strengthen the east–west road infrastructure of Santa Fe; a segment of Provincial Route 13 was renamed after him by Obeid on the 43rd anniversary of Tessio's assumption.
Aldo Tessio's daughter Griselda served as federal prosecutor in Santa Fe City, and is currently running for vice-governor of Santa Fe along with Socialist Party governor candidate Hermes Binner.
