ALMA, ONTARIO

'Alma', or 'Alma Station', is a small rural village in southwestern Ontario, Canada. It is a part of the Township of Mapleton in North Wellington County and lies north of Elora, and south of Arthur. Local businesses include restaurants, car mechanics, and the local variety store, as well as a vibrant agricultural scene.

★ Alma is home to the annual "plunger-toss", a competition in which participants throw household plungers into empty toilets.

★ When approaching Alma from the south, the village's sign states, "Alma. Population: Three hundred happy people and two grouches." The sign was made by the Grose family and only they know who the two grouches are.
