ALPHA LYNCIS


'Alpha Lyncis' (α Lyn / α Lyncis) is a Class K7, third-magnitude star in the constellation Lynx. It sometimes called by the Arabic names 'Elvashak' or 'Alvashak' (الوشق ''al-washaq''), and '''Al Fahd''' (الفاحد ''al-fahd''), both meaning ''"The Lynx"'' or ''"The Wild Cat"''.
Alpha Lyncis is a variable star located about 220 light-years from Earth.
