AMANDA ROOT

'Amanda Root' is a British actress (born 1963 in Essex), best known for her television appearances.
She also did the voice of Sophie in the animated film of Roald Dahl's ''The BFG'', and appeared in the sitcom ''All About Me'' as Miranda.
In 1995, she starred as Anne Elliot in "Persuasion". The film (made for TV, then released theatrically) which is based on the novel by Jane Austen, provided Amanda with her first leading role in a film.
