AMBATI RAYUDU
'Ambati Thirupathi Rayudu' (born September 23 1985), is an Indian cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm off-break bowler.
Born in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, Rayudu is a middle order batsman, making his debut in Ranji Trophy domestic cricket in the 2001/02 cricket season for Hyderabad. In the 2002/03 season, Rayudu made a double century and a century in a match against Andhra Pradesh. He played for his home state, Andhra Pradesh, for one season (2005/2006). He currently represents the Hyderabad team in Indian domestic cricket.
Rayudu was selected to represent the India Under-19 cricket team in the 2002 tour of England. In the third One Day International, Rayudu scored 177, helping his side to overhaul England's total of 305. In the earlier match he had performed a similar role when his 80 laid the foundation for a victorious run-chase as the Indians defeated their English counterparts 3-0 in the ODI series. In the 2004/2005 three-test series against England Under-19, he scored three consecutive half-centuries. Rayudu captained India Under-19 in the 2003/2004 Under-19 Cricket World Cup.
He is a regular in the India A-squad.
