Anderton is a village in the county of Cheshire, in the north west of England, north of Northwich. It is situated in the parish of Anderton with Marbury. It is probably best known for the Victorian Boat Lift, which was the model for various European boat lifts. It is fully restored and again raises boats fifty feet from the River Weaver to the Trent and Mersey Canal.
