ANDREW KEENAN-BOLGER


'Andrew Keenan-Bolger' (born May 16 1985) is an American actor and singer. He most recently appeared as Ryan in North Shore Music Theatre's stage production of Disney's High School Musical in July of 2007. He will now be playing Leaf Coneybear in the national tour of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.

Keenan-Bolger grew up in Detroit, Michigan and graduated in 2003 from Renaissance High School, according to his profile on the website Facebook. In 2007 he graduated from University of Michigan with a BFA in Musical Theatre. Keenan-Bolger is the younger brother of Tony Award-nominated actress Celia Keenan-Bolger, who also studied musical theatre at University of Michigan.

Career


Keenan-Bolger made his Broadway debut in 2000 as a replacement for the role of Chip in Broadway's Beauty and the Beast.[1] He was an alternate for the role of JoJo in the 2000 Broadway production of Seussical the Musical, performed as Young Scrooge in A Christmas Carol and was in the national tour of Ragtime. Keenan-Bolger has also appeared in film, television and has done voice work in animation.[2]

In summer 2007, Keenan-Bolger began a blog on the website of North Shore Music Theatre about the experience of being in the cast, entitled Andrew's Blog. It quickly evolved into a video blog, or vlog. On July 16 2007 he began his second "season" of his blog, now hosted by Blogger and no longer associated with NSMT, which will follow his experiences on tour in Spelling Bee.
