ANDREYAN ZAKHAROV

Russian Admiralty building enlarged by Zakharov.

'Andreyan Dmitrievich Zakharov' (August 19 1761 in Saint Petersburg – September 8 1811 in Saint Petersburg) was a leading Russian Neoclassical architect. Trained at Imperial Academy of Arts and in Paris under Jean-François-Thérese Chalgrin (1782–1786). Then, he travelled to Italy. His major works are enlargement of Russian Admiralty building and Kronstadt Cathedral.
