ANISEIKONIA

'Aniseikonia' is an ophthalmological condition caused by unequal retinal image sizes. This condition is typically the result of unequal refractive errors. Patients experiencing aniseikonia typically have difficulty fusing the images of the left and right eyes causing discomfort, visual confusion and even headaches. Refractive aniseikonia is best corrected by contact lens. Contact lenses minimize the magnification/minification caused by glasses. The most common cause of aniseikonia is aphakia.
