Annur is located at .[1] It has an average elevation of 338 metres (1108 feet).
Demographics
As of 2001 India census,[2] Annur had a population of 18,163. Males constitute 50% of the population and females 50%. Annur has an average literacy rate of 66%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with 55% of the males and 45% of females literate. 10% of the population is under 6 years of age.

The name Annur came from Manniyur named after alocal king Manni.
There is a famous temple called Manneeswaraswamy Temple built 1000 years ago by Chera kings.
Annur is also a cotton and textile manufacturing Hub comprising of Yarn spinning mills, 100 cotton ginning factories.It also has more than 100 edible oil mills.
