Pervect demon Aahz teams up with Klahd wanna-be magician Skeeve after Skeeve's mentor Garkin is killed by Throckwoddle, an Imp assassin. Aahz teaches Skeeve more about magik. Aahz and Skeeve start out to defeat Isstvan and Skeeve learns more about magik. The duo meet up with Quigley the demon hunter, then the other Imps, and finally Frumple who gives them a D-Hopper to travel to Deva to acquire supplies to defeat Isstvan. They run into Tananda at the Bazaar and head back to Klah. The group recruits Quigly and they attack Isstvan in his inn.

Characters

★ 'Skeeve': Apprentice to the magician 'Aahz' after his original mentor, 'Garkin' was killed by an Imp known as 'Throckwoddle'.

★ 'Aahz': Pervect magician from the dimension Perv who lost his powers after 'Garkin' summoned him into his shack, releasing a cloud of joke powder, a novelty item that prevents anyone who ingests it, or inhales any smoke produced in its combustion, from using magic for "about a century or so." 'Aahz' takes 'Skeeve' under his wing and teaches him magic.

★ 'Tananda': Professional assassin who targeted 'Skeeve' for a con before realising he was a friend of 'Aahz'. Called curvaceous by both 'Aahz' and 'Skeeve', she also has olive green hair and tends to dress in revealing outfits.

★ 'Frumple': Deveel Merchant who was banned from his home dimension of Deva for reasons unknown. Goes by the alias of "Abdul the rug merchant" in the town of Twixt in the dimension of Klah. Eventually teams up with 'Isstvan' to defeat the group.

★ 'Quigley': Washout demon-hunter who the Myth Duo run into on the way to confront 'Isstvan'.

★ 'Isstvan': Evil magician who plans to conquer the dimensions. Looks and acts like a cheerful old innkeeper, but has an extremely evil personality and is very sadistic and quite insane.

★ 'Gleep': 'Skeeve's' baby dragon. He was accidentally purchased when he ate 'Skeeve''s sleeve. Has a one word vocabulary of "Gleep," thus the name.

★ 'Brockhurst' and 'Higgens': Two Imp assassins accompanying 'Throckwoddle' they were hired by 'Isstvan' to kill 'Garkin'. They aren't very bright with 'Brockhurst' being the smarter of the two.
