'AppForge, Inc.' was a software company headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. AppForge provided mobile application development services as well as CrossFire, a software tool to simplify the creation of mobile applications for Symbian, Windows Mobile, RIM BlackBerry, and Palm OS. Crossfire was a software plugin for Visual Basic 6 and for Microsoft Visual Studio .NET.
March 13, 2007, AppForge ceased operations and has been assigned to the benefit of the creditors. It is in the process of being sold, but nothing has been finalized at this point (March 23 2007).
April 2, 2007, all AppForge License validation servers went dark and all AppForge development platforms became invalid leaving its customers high and dry.
April 10, 2007, the developers forum and shop parts of the Appforge website have now gone offline. Only some parts of the main website are still operational.
April 12, 2007, the www.appforge.com URL has been redirected to www.oracle.com
The assets of AppForge, Inc. have been assigned for benefit of creditors to Hays Financial Consulting, LLC. Information for former employees and creditors can be found at www.haysconsulting.net.
April 18, 2007, Oracle announces they have purchased the Intellectual Property of Appforge, Inc., but releases no details. Market Watch Story
April 20, 2007, Oracle announced that:
“Oracle did not acquire the AppForge...former customer contracts, so Oracle does not plan to sell or provide support for former AppForge products going forward.â€
May 1, 2007, Oracle posts FAQ regarding the purchase.

AppForge used to sell an ISV version and a non-ISV version of Crossfire.
The ISV version required yearly renewals of the development environment license.
The non-ISV version required activation of the client license (the booster) upon deployment.
As of April 2, 2007, ISV users were no longer able to update their applications once their yearly license expired.
As of the same date, Non-ISV users were no longer able to install new software on the mobile units, or to re-install mobile units that had run out of batteries.
