The 'Roman Catholic Metropolitan Archdiocese of Bombay' is an diocese of the Roman Catholic Church in India. The suffragan dioceses are: Nashik, Poona and Vasai. The Archdiocese of Bombay has been a Metropolitan see since it was elevated on 1 September 1886 by Pope Leo XIII.
The current Archbishop of Bombay is Oswald Gracias who was appointed on 14 October 2006 by Pope Benedict XVI. The Archbishop Emeritus of Bombay (now Mumbai) is His Eminence Simon Cardinal Pimenta since 8 November, 1996, and Ivan Cardinal Dias who is currently Prefect Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples.
The motherchurch of the archdiocese is the Cathedral of the Holy Name in Colaba, in South Mumbai.
