'Area code 580' serves the state of Oklahoma. It covers the remainder of the state not included in the Oklahoma City or Tulsa areas, including Lawton, Enid, Ponca City, Altus, Weatherford, Guymon, Durant, and Ardmore.
Area code 580 was created as a result of a split from area code 405 on November 1, 1997.[1]
The other two area codes in Oklahoma are 405, which covers central Oklahoma (mostly the Oklahoma City Metropolitan Area and the surrounding area) and 918, which covers northeastern Oklahoma (and includes the city of Tulsa).
