'Avondale' (2006 Population 667) is a Canadian town located on Newfoundland's Avalon Peninsula in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador.
It is in Division No. 1 on Conception Bay. It had a post office, a money order office and a railway station and one church. It is a lumbering, fishing and farming settlement in Harbour Main District. It is located 37 miles from St. John's and 45 miles from Placentia. Edward Kennedy was the postmaster in 1889. At the time, it had a postal and money order office and also a railway station. The main employment was in fishing, lumbering asnd farming. By 1976 it had grown to a population of 937.
