BMW CAR CLUB OF AMERICA
The 'BMW Car Club of America' ('BMW CCA') is an U.S.-based not-for-profit organization of enthusiasts and owners of BMW-made automobiles (including the MINI). The club exists as a separate entity from BMW AG and its North American subsidiary, although there is a close working relationship. For instance, once someone has been a member of the BMW CCA for one full year without lapse and purchases a new or certified pre-owned BMW, by filing a rebate request within 60 days of the purchase, the member receives a check from BMW of North America of between $500 and $1,500 depending on the model purchased or leased! [1]
Founded in 1969, the organization began as an owner-support network, but has grown to include motorsports and racing events, including high-performance driving education, autocrossing, rallies and club-level racing [2] in addition to owner education on topics such as mechanical repair, automotive maintenance and collecting vintage vehicles.
Headquartered in Greenville, South Carolina, BMW CCA is a not-for-profit corporation, the Club's staff is located at the National Office in Greenville, S.C. The club is governed by an elected Board of Directors that meets quarterly. Five Regional Vice Presidents, who serve on the Board, represent the interests of our many Chapters. Each Chapter is an independent corporation chartered by BMW CCA and operates within with minimum standards of service to the membership.[3].
''Roundel'' Roundel is the club's national, monthly magazine. It's filled with feature articles, monthly columns, product reviews and technical information.
Local BMW CCA chapters publish newsletters at least quarterly to inform members about upcoming events. Most chapters host monthly meetings, as well as offering driving, technical and social events. A chapter is also the members' liaison with local dealers and independent shops, and can assist members with obtaining discounts on parts and services.
Each year the club hosts a week-long event,Oktoberfest, a national club gathering, that includes non-speed competitive driving events, a wide variety of technical sessions, vendor displays and presentations, as well as plenty of socializing with fellow BMW enthusiasts. [4]
Membership is just $40.00 per year.
