BARBIZON
'Barbizon' is a village and a commune of the Seine-et-Marne ''département'', in France, located near the Fontainebleau Forest.

The inhabitants are called ''Barbizonais''.
As of the census of 1999, there where 1,490 people residing in the village.
Miscellaneous
The Barbizon school of painters is named after the village; Théodore Rousseau and Jean-François Millet, leaders of the school, made their homes and died in the village.
