BASSIGNANA


'Bassignana' (in Piedmontese ''Bassignan-a'') is a ''comune'' (population 1,802) in the Province of Alessandria, Piedmont, Italy. The village is situated near the confluence of the Po and the Tanaro.
Many emigrants to America (Memphis, Tennessee): at present many Surnames there from Bassignana, including Vescovo, Robilio, Barzizza (Barzi), Sampietro, Soro and Grillo.
