'Baxter' is a railway station in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, located in the suburb of Baxter, on the Stony Point railway line. It is in Metcard Zone 2. It is the former junction of the Mornington railway line.

Location


The station is located at the northern end of the Baxter-Tooradin Road level crossing. Shops are located near the station.

Facilities


The station consists of only one platform. The platform contains a small shelter. Like all stations on the Stony Point line, Baxter contains no Metcard machine or validators, but they are on the MTH carriages that use the line, thus requiring passengers to buy and validate Metcards in the carriages.
The platform can be accessed via Baxter-Tooradin Road.

History


Baxter station opened on Monday, 1st October 1888.

'Moorooduc Station' was the first station on the former Mornington Branch Line after Baxter.


'Langwarrin Station' a former station on the Stony Point line is located between Leawarra and Baxter stations.
