BEAR LAKE MONSTER

The 'Bear lake Monster' is a lake monster that is reported to live in Bear Lake.
According to Joseph C. Rich; a Mormon colonizer at Bear Lake who wrote several articles on the subject for the Deseret Evening News, American Indians had told white settlers in the 1860s that a monster lived at the lake and had taken two of their tribesmen away. Rich went on to say that several settlers subsequently saw the monster and described it in their reports as a beast with large ears and a mouth large enough to eat a human. Till his death he did not deny seeing the monster. Subsequent reports have given conflicting descriptions of the beast, with some describing it as similar to a walrus and others saying that it is more like a dinosaur. The last reported sighting of the monster was in 2002. Bear Lake 'Monster' sparks debate, revenue Mark Thiessen Bear Lake Monster
