BEBRA

'Bebra' is a town to the Hersfeld-Rotenburg district, in Hesse, Germany. It is situated at the Fulda River between Bad Hersfeld and Rotenburg an der Fulda. Larger cities in the vicinity are Kassel to the north and Fulda to the south. Frankfurt is about 150 km south-west of Bebra.

History

Before the fall of the Berlin Wall, Bebra was the largest border checkpoint for railroad transportation across East German territory between West Germany and Berlin.
