'Bel Aire' is a city in Sedgwick County, Kansas, United States. The population was 5,836 at the 2000 census.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 5.7 km² (2.2 mi²). 5.6 km² (2.2 mi²) of it is land and 0.46% is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 5,836 people, 1,976 households, and 1,618 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,033.6/km² (2,680.8/mi²). There were 2,024 housing units at an average density of 358.5/km² (929.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the city was 85.47% White, 7.32% African American, 0.45% Native American, 3.68% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 1.10% from other races, and 1.97% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.02% of the population.
There were 1,976 households out of which 47.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 73.4% were married couples living together, 6.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 18.1% were non-families. 15.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 5.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.95 and the average family size was 3.30.
In the city the population was spread out with 32.9% under the age of 18, 5.2% from 18 to 24, 33.2% from 25 to 44, 21.1% from 45 to 64, and 7.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 33 years. For every 100 females there were 98.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 95.1 males.
The median income for a household in the city was $66,937, and the median income for a family was $72,091. Males had a median income of $50,236 versus $35,298 for females. The per capita income for the city was $23,202. About 3.7% of families and 4.8% of the population were below the poverty line, including 8.9% of those under age 18 and 3.0% of those age 65 or over.
