BELTZHOOVER (PITTSBURGH)
'Beltzhoover' is a neighborhood in southern Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in an area known as the South Hills.
The area is named for George Beltzhoover who was a farmer there in the early portion of the 19th century. The community contains a park called McKinley Park. The neighborhood lies in the 18th ward.
The neighborhood is currently the subject of a revitalization effort by several local organizations, such as the Beltzhoover Concerned Citizens Development Corporation, South Side Local Development, the Hilltop Housing Initiative, and the Urban Redevelopment Authority.[1]
