History

'Ben Lomond High School' gets its name from the nearby Mt. Ben Lomond which was named by Scottish settlers. The mountain resembled their own Ben Lomond in Scotland near Loch Lomond. This local cultural influence gave the school its theme, including bagpipers, scottie dog mascot, and students are known as "Friendly Fighting Scots". The School Hymn written by Richard Packham is sung to the tune of ''The Bonnie Banks O' Loch Lomond''.

Bond

Residents of Ogden passed a bond in June 2006 to obtain money to rebuild/refurbish Ben Lomond as well as other Ogden city schools. Construction and demolition of Ben Lomond High's former media center wing is almost complete. Reconstruction is scheduled to begin soon. Portable classrooms are being used to temporarily house students/teachers in affected parts of the school.
