BEN SHIBE
'Benjamin F. Shibe' (January 23 1838 - January 14 1922) was an American executive in Major League Baseball who was half-owner of the Philadelphia Athletics from 1901 until his death. He is credited with the invention of the machinery to make standard baseballs. Shibe Park was named in his honor from 1909 to 1954.
