Students are on a four block schedule. They have two classes in the morning, followed by a 40 minute lunch, and then 2 more classes in the afternoon. Most classes meet every day for a semester, but some, especially AP classes, meet every other day all year long. At lunch, Juniors and Seniors are allowed to go off campus.
In the 2004-2005 school year, the school held their yearly Sadie Hawkins dance. Students began engaging in "inappropriate dancing" including freak dancing, and grinding. After the third warning from school administrators, the school shut down the dance two hours early and immediately sent all students home.[1] The incident made headline news around the nation, and set the standard that many schools have for school dances and how school administrators should enforce dance policy.
