BETHANY, NEBRASKA
'Bethany' is a neighborhood and former village in the northeast region of the city of Lincoln, Nebraska.
Bethany was annexed by Lincoln between 1926 and 1930. The neighborhood once had a college (Cotner College) and was the home of the very first King's Drive In.
The most visible reminder of Bethany as an independent village is the Bethany business district, centered around 66th and Holdrege streets. U.S. Highway 6 used to run through Bethany before being moved its current route through Lincoln (Cornhusker Highway).
Bethany also used to have its own Bethany Iga store but was later changed to Jeff's Bethany Market and closed in the late 80s.
