BETHPAGE BRANCH
The 'Bethpage Branch' was a branch of the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR), running from Bethpage on the split between the Ronkonkoma Branch and Central Branch into what today is the 'Old Bethpage Village Restoration'. The line was originally built by the Central Railroad of Long Island (CRRLI) in June 1873, primarily for the purpose of serving some local brick manufacturers so they could build Garden City, New York. Besides the existing Bethpage Station, the one and only other station along the line was Bethpage Junction. It became part of the LIRR, when it bought the CRRLI, and was abandoned on November 10, 1942
