BETTY UNGER
'Betty E. Unger' (born: ) is a Canadian politician and a Progressive Conservative Senator in waiting from Alberta, Canada.
Unger ran for the Canadian House of Commons as a candidate for the Canadian Alliance in 2000, losing a close contest to Liberal Cabinet Minister Anne McLellan.
Unger owned and operated a successful Alberta nursing services company for many years and has an extensive record in politics and community service.
She is currently a "Senator in waiting" in Alberta, having finished a close second in the 2004 Alberta senate election. She is the first woman to hold the Senator in Waiting title and will likely be appointed to the Canadian Senate next in the event of a vacant seat in Alberta.
