Lawrence has written for hit shows including ''Friends'', ''Boy Meets World'', and ''The Nanny'' and produced the animated series ''Clone High''. He is also the creator of the sitcoms ''Spin City'' and his current venture, ''Scrubs'', which has finished six of its seven seasons on NBC. He is also one of the producers of the rejected television pilot ''Nobody's Watching''. In 2006/2007 he was prepping the film "Fletch Won" (which is a prequel to the previous Fletch films), but after '' Scrubs'' star Zach Braff dropped out, Bill Lawrence then soon after dropped out as well.
Along with many ''Scrubs'' cast members, Bill Lawrence also has a small role playing himself in ''It's a Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie'' in a scene with Miss Piggy.
In a recent episode of Scrubs, Bill appeared as an extra in the maternity center.
Bill is married to Christa Miller, and they have three children: Charlotte Sarah, born on June 8 2000; William Stoddard, born on January 3 2003; and Henry Vanduzer, born on October 8 2006.
