BILL O'BRIEN (AMERICAN FOOTBALL)
'Bill O'Brien' (born October 23, 1969 in Andover, Massachusetts) is the current American football offensive assistant coach for the New England Patriots of the National Football League. He was previously the Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks coach for Duke University.
O'Brien, a native of Andover, Massachusetts attended Brown University in Rhode Island. He played defensive end and linebacker for the Bears from 1990 until 1992.
O'Brien's first coaching position was at Brown, where he coached tight ends in 1993 then outside linebackers in 1994. He would then spend the next three seasons (1995-1998) as an offensive graduate assistant at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He then coached the Yellow Jacket's quarterbacks from the 1999 season until the end of the 2000 season, when he was named offensive coordinator. He served as coordinator for two years before leaving to coach running backs at the University of Maryland. He spent two seasons there before being named the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for Duke.
O'Brien was hired by the New England Patriots on February 27, 2007 to as an offensive assistant[1].
