BISHOP OF KILMORE
'Kilmore' is a historic diocese in central Ireland. It lay in the province of Ulster, and county of Cavan. It corresponded to the lordship or petty kingdom of Breffni.
Its bishops have included St. Feidhlimh or Felim, its founder.
Notable seventeenth century Anglican bishops included:
★ William Bedell, the translator of the Bible into Irish;
★ Sheridan, who refused to take the Oath of Loyalty to William and Mary and defected to James II in France.
