BLOOMBERG TELEVISION
(Redirected from Bloomberg TV)
'Bloomberg Television' are cable television networks around the world that broadcast business and financial news 24 hours a day. The network is widely known for their datascreen format, in which news tickers and business data boxes use more of the television screen than the broadcast video. They were also one of the first financial news networks to provide a free internet streaming video feed. Bloomberg Television is owned by Bloomberg L.P. and has its headquarters in New York City.
Bloomberg Television lists the following international variations of the channel. Some of these are re-broadcast in a number of other countries:
★ Asia and Pacific - covering Malaysia, Philippines, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, and Australia.
★ Brazil
★ France
★ Germany
★ Italy
★ Japan
★ Portugal
★ Spain
★ United Kingdom
★ United States
Bloomberg TV was severely reprimanded for breach of Ofcom rules during the 2005 UK national (General) election. Bloomberg TV was found to have showed pro-Labour Party bias [1]. This occurred due to a breach of British law. In the run up to a general election television channels must provide equal time to all major political parties. Bloomberg covered the release by the Labour Party of their so-called "Business Manefesto" but did not provide counter-balancing air time to the Conservatives or Liberal Democrats.
