BOB DUVAL

'Robert "Bob" Duval' (born October 9, 1946) is an American professional golfer and is best known for being the father of David Duval, formerly the top-ranked player in the world.
Duval was born in Schenectady, New York, the son of a professional golfer, and grew up in upstate New York. He attended Florida State University and turned pro in 1968.
Duval played in a handful of PGA Tour events during his regular career years, but primarily earned his living for nearly thirty years as a teaching and club pro at various country clubs in northern Florida. In the 1970s, he was the head club and teaching pro at Timuquana Country Club in Jacksonville, and later held the same position at The Plantation in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.
Duval joined the Senior PGA Tour (now known as the Champions Tour) in 1997. He has about two dozen top-10 finishes including a wire-to-wire win at the 1999 Emerald Coast Classic. His win came on the same day that his son David won the Players Championship on the PGA Tour and ascended to the #1 ranking in the world.
Duval co-authored a book with Carl Vigeland, ''Letters to a Young Golfer''. He lives in Ponte Vedra Beach.
