BOB JOHNSON (RADIO)
'Bob Johnson' (born 'Robert Johnson' on 19th February 1974) is an English radio producer and presenter on the London based talk radio station LBC 97.3.
Brought up in Watford, England, he attended St Clement Danes School and the University of Luton (now the University of Bedfordshire). Always interested in radio, he was a volunteer at Radio Mount Vernon, a Hospital Radio Station in Northwood. His break into LBC came in 1993 when his mother won a charity auction to come into the studios and watch the Pete Murray show being broadcast. Chatting to a producer he arranged some voluntary work as a phone operator. Bob has been working at LBC ever since, with some additional experience at Oasis Radio and Talk Radio UK.
Bob has been the producer of the Clive Bull show since 1999. Initially simply known as 'Bob Nice', he has steadily become a regularly heard voice on the show. As a producer he is well known for his somewhat random wanderings out of the studio during the show to leave Clive alone to drive the desk and vet the calls. Sometime this is to collect a '94' from the drinks machine (a coffee) for Clive. Bob is also known to enjoy watching TV whilst working.
In the summer of 2006, he presented the Monday to Thursday 8 til midnight show himself, whilst Clive was on holiday. His presentation style is gentle and laid back, enjoying conversations with his callers. He doesn't get in to heated debate about news or current affairs issues. He filled in again in May 2007.
He once produced Iain Lee, who always refers to him on air as 'Crazy Bob'.
Bob Johnson was also planning on producing Iain Lee's show permanently, but decided to stick with Clive Bull's show.
Bob is a supporter of Watford Football Club and the Chicago Cubs baseball team. He is married and lives in Buckinghamshire with two children, a boy and a girl.
