BOGO CITY

'Bogo City' (Cebuano: ''Dakbayan sa Bogo'', Tagalog: ''Lungsod ng Bogo'') is a 4th class city in the province of Cebu, Philippines. According to the 2000 census, it has a population of 63,869 people in 13,509 households.

Cityhood

The plebiscite for the cityhood of Bogo was held on June 16, 2007. After few hours of canvassing, 97.82% of voters of Bogo voted for "yes" for the cityhood. Later, Representative Clavel Asas-Matinez announced that the cityhood of Bogo has been ratified. It becomes the sixth component city of Cebu province. by: hiphip
