BOURBON-LANCY

'Bourbon-Lancy' is a commune of the Saône-et-Loire ''département'', in France. It is a nice place to rest and enjoy nature, good organic food and Burgundy wine in a yet unspoilt environment.
The city has an history that spans well over 2000 years an it is geographically situated in the heart of Gaul. It is only 35 miles (54 km) away from Bibracte, the capital city of the 'Eduens', one of the people of the Celtic Gaul; and about 40 miles (60km) from Autun.
The name Bourbon allegedly comes from the Celt 'Borvo' who was god of the springs. Several Spa cities are therefore named "Bourbon" in France.
You will find in the heart of this peaceful town an auhtentic medieval belfroy, wooden frame houses and some fortifications that have been preserved over the centuries.
A wise saying is carved somewhere in the heart of the medieval town. You may wish to treasure hunt it. It reads '"In vino veritas sed in aqua sapientia"'.
