BOWIE HOTSPOT
The 'Bowie hotspot' is a volcanic hotspot located 180 kilometers west of the Queen Charlotte Islands, British Columbia, Canada. The hotspot has made the Kodiak-Bowie Seamount chain,[1] which has been subducting under Alaska as the Pacific Plate subducts at the Aleutian Trench. The Bowie Seamount is the hotspot's most recent eruptive center, which was active during the last ice age,[2] and the oldest being the Kodiak Seamount.
