BRIANZA

'Brianza' is a hilly region at the foot of the Alps, in north-western Lombardy. It is next ''Milan'', extending from the North of it, but not including the city.
Brianza extends from Canzo (North) to the Monza zone (South) (at 3 km from Milan), and from Seveso river (West) to the Adda river (East). In the middle of Brianza there is the Lambro river. The most important towns are Monza (S), Cantù (C-N-W), Erba (N), Merate (C-N-E), Lissone and Desio (S), Mariano Comense (C) and Canzo (N).
The language spoken in this region is Brianzöö , a dialect of Insubric language.
It is thickly populated and remarkable for its fertility; and being hilly is a favourite summer resort of the Milanese.
