BRITAIN'S NEXT TOP MODEL, CYCLE 3

'Britain's Next Top Model, Cycle 3' is a UK reality television show that is broadcast on Living. It is based on the same concept as ''America's Next Top Model''. It began on July 2 2007.

For this cycle the judges remain the same as they did during Cycle 2. Lisa Snowdon continues to host, and Jonathan Phang and Paula Hamilton continue to judge. The number of contestants was reduced to 12, which is the same number of contestants as there was during the first year. The intro was changed from the usual design of the girls on billboards to girls standing around huge letters spelling 'Britain's Next Top Model' and the song has also been changed.

Episode summary

Week 1

The girls arrive and immediately face their first challenge posing in front of the press and answering brief questions. The photoshoot involved a calendar-shoot with each model as a different month. Carly injures her foot from the extremely high shoes which resulted in her using crutches to walk during the elimination ceremony, though she cited a "skin infection" as the reason for this.

Week 2

The girls receive their personalised makeovers. Louise refuses to walk in underwear and an argument leaves Stefanie in floods of tears, when they see what she's really like. Stefanie claims she has ADHD and doesn't take medication, however the other girls claim she is using this as an excuse. The photoshoot involved the contestants modelling outfits in a crane-held box. Ultimately, it was Krystal and Carly in the bottom two for lackluster performances with Krystal being sent home.

Week 3

The girls arrive at a dancing studio and are taught about the art of ballet to help them with their movement. Louise struggles and has trouble with her attitude. The challenge of skating on ice is won by Stefanie. When Stefanie shares her reward with Rebecca, Sherece and Carly they use the opportunity to talk about the other girls. Carly's involvement causes a huge argument. They pose as Snow Queens for their photoshoot and Abigail is sent home after not being able to photograph well.

Week 4

There is a huge fight between Stefanie and Louise. The girls have to do stand-up comedy in front of an audience. The girls reach a truce and begin to get along. The have a 1950's photoshoot as housewives and Natalie is sent home after not being able to prove that she's more than just a catwalk model.

Week 5

The girls get the chance to meet Caprice and are given fifteen minutes to find an outfit for different occasions. Their challenge is a luncheon and they are judged on their etiquette. Rebecca wins the challenge and invites Sherece to join her to go to Harrods. The photoshoot is nude modeling diamonds. In judging Carly lands in the bottom two again, but Holly is sent home for not showing enough desire to be a model.

Week 6

The girls get to star in a rock n roll music video, where Louise throws a tantrum because of her outfit but after eventually pulling it togther she joins in with the dancing, following the video the girls have a photoshoot for Mamas&Papas, in judging Carly finds herself in the bottom two for the third time, against Louise. However, this time she doesn't make it and is eliminated because she lacks versality and flexability.

Week 7

The girls are woken up with a gruelling morning workout followed by a fake grilling from a tabloid jounalist. Their challenge this week is posing for a wonderbra commercial. Stefanie wins the challenge and takes Louise, Rebecca and Sherece with her to a celebrity filled party. The have a dinner with Joan Rivers, the head of Models 1 and a photographer. After they leave yet another fight breaks out. The shoot is superheroes with the new Vauxhaul Tigra. In judging Stefanie is almost eliminated but her challenge win saves her and Sherece is sent home.

Week 8

This week the girls found out they are going to Rio, Brazil, but there are only four places on the plane. After a meeting with Models1 and a casting with Company Magazine, Lauren, Rebecca and Stefanie are treated to their own room at the Savoy and messages from home for impressing the judges most. The photoshoot meant that the girls had to pose underwater whilst trying to deliver a tranquil, soothing and refreshing picture. Lucy had trouble with this and endured many panic problems throughout the shoot. At judging, Louise is once again criticised for her attitude problem, but Lucy's less than consistent work means she misses out on the trip to Rio, and must instead pack her bags for home.

Week 9

The four remaining girls travel to Rio and face a carnival-inspired photo shoot, featuring some challenging and painful costumes. Stefanie and Lauren both find the shoot hard-going, while Louise warms to the task and produces the strongest photo. The girls then have dinner with Lisa, where she asks them each in turn why they should be chosen to win the competition. Whilst Rebecca is discussing her troubled past, Stefanie starts to make remarks and an argument ensues where Lisa ends up lecturing Stefanie and telling her not to interrupt. The final task is a casting for a Brazilian soap opera. The girls have to learn a small piece of Portuguese dialogue, kiss and then slap an actor from the soap. Lauren finds the task difficult because she is worried about her boyfriend at home. Stefanie claims that she finds it difficult because kissing is a ‘fourth date thing’, and she fails to keep a straight face during the scene. Rebecca wins the challenge and takes Louise on a boat cruise/picnic, while the other two girls have to sell iced tea on the beach. Lauren and Stefanie are in the bottom two. Lauren is told she needs to lose her self-consciousness, whereas Stefanie is told she lacks depth and only has one look. Stefanie is eliminated.

Week 10

In the final the girls get the chance to do some Brazilian dancing. Lauren wins the challenge. In a swimwear photoshoot Louise does well, although she is criticised by the photographer because of her weight. Rebecca struggles feeling insecure about her body. In judging, the judges praise Louise's performance. Lauren lands in the bottom two but it is Rebecca who goes home. The remaining two have a final runway challenge. Lauren remains focused and is praised for this, whereas Louise receives some criticism for being more casual. At judging after seeing footage of their show, each girl tears up as the say why each of them should be Britain's Next Top Model. The judges then discuss each girl's progress throughout the show, praising many of Louise's photographs, whilst criticising many of Laurens. But they also discuss Lauren's progress towards becoming a model and her beautiful runway catwalk. The girls are called back in Lauren is named the winner and Louise the runner-up.
